I've read Kaoru Matsumoto's "statement" in the catalogue 3 times now and either I need a good night's sleep, or it really is a case of "what the...?"
But that doesn't matter. All you need to know is that the pencil-like bit at the top? It moves around with the wind. Very cool, from an engineering point of view.
And for some of us, art and engineering (not to mention beauty) sometimes overlap.
If I do go back next weekend to shoot the items that I missed, I'm hoping that it's windy so that I can sit and watch this for a spell, assuming that I can still get back to the car before I run into issues with the rapacious Waverley Council parking meters.
Addendum: My personal opinion is that Facebook is a sociopathic organisation that steals other peoples' intellectual property (including the images in this gallery) despite being explicitly denied permission to do so.
