In one way I must have been getting a bit punchy by this point (I'd been on the photography prowl for almost 2 hours and a few kilometres by then) since I didn't get a long shot of this. On the other hand, I did take a shot which, I later found, was reflective of the essence of it. (I "later found" because I bought the catalogue after I took the shots. Obviously the kiosk wasn't open at 05:30 when I arrived.)
Pauanui by Jacek Wankowski "embodies movement, anticipation, and a sense of unfolding". The exploding waves in the background certainly qualify for that.
The sculpture is a mixture of galvanised steel and Corten steel.
