Sculptor Lucy Vader comes from a background in architecture and interiors, and has used that to move into steel sculptures. Understanding the use of space as well as form was doubtless a help in creating this.
This sculpture is located at the bottom of the hill just before you get to Tamarama Beach and as you're coming down the hill the vibrant yellow of it is quite striking. I don't doubt that the black "shadow" letters at the back enhance the effect.
(I did take a shot of that, but that rage is not really the 50mm's forte and it wasn't quite as effective as I'd like so I'm not going to post it.)
In fact this image also looked slightly "flatter" against the close-in background grass than the real thing did, which is why I've opted to go the selective colour route.
