The sculptor Jeramie Carter quotes the late American dancer Ted Shawn in his comment about this work; "Dance is the only art of which we ourselves are the stuff of which it is made".

This of course presupposes that one does not, as I do, have all the rhythmic grace of a zombie.

The highly polished surfaces give a mirror like effect of which we'll see more in a later shot, but first I wanted to give this context image. The sculptor wanted the mirror to give an alternative view of the viewer and their surroundings, and it's effective in that sense.

Well, mostly effective.
