This one's a day late going up because I couldn't be bothered tagging yesterday's shoot at the time; it was waaaaay too depressing.
As I mentioned in Saturday's image, the 24-105 lens appeared to be acting up, giving Err 01 (lens communication) errors on the 40D. I suspected that it was the lens, not the camera, because the 70-200 performed faultlessly. However the only way to confirm it was to try it wit a different camera so I hauled it in and attached it to its original partner, the 300D. Sure enough, within a few shots I started getting "shutter flutter" and error messages, though 99's (Unknown Error) instead of 01's this time. (Err 01 has the same meaning on the 300D as the 40D.) The error was intermittent, but frequent.
Yup, the lens is borked. Again.
With regard to the title there hadn't actually been a storm, but there had been heavy rainfall, the residue of which you see here. "Any old leaf" because I had just been looking for easy subjects to shoot, since my real interest was in testing out the lens.
