20100917_10540 "Put your hands in the air, and launch them up and down..." (Fri 17 Sep)

Pyrmont, NSW

"Headin' for the wild wild west!

Wild! West!"

With one exception, all of the captions from this week's PADs have been either song titles, lyrics, or some corruption thereof. So I figured that we may as well continue for the end of the working week. (Wild Wild West by The Escape Club, if that piece of 80's nostalgia escapes you. These people are facing west... well, south-west really, but why quibble.)

I was actually snapping some bees around a bottlebrush plant at this time. However when I looked over I saw this personal training group. I decided to launch off a single shot (which I really should have opened to f/4 for, but still...) at the point when some of them were in the launch phase of their jumping jacks just to add some diversity to the day's collection and give me more PAD options. In any case, I decided to go for this one.

I have no idea what a Fitness First trainer is doing over here in Pyrmont since the nearest club is on the other side of Pyrmont Bridge, a couple of kilometres away, thankfully. I don't hold anything against the personal trainers, who are all independent contractors and who are squeezed for money as relentlessly as Fitness First squeezes its members (the members pay to use the facilities, the trainers pay rent for the members to use the facilities), but Fitness First itself is a company that I detest. It's the only health club that I know of with its own (several thousand member) hate group on Facebook, and having been a member in the past I know full well why. No, that has nothing to do with the photograph aside from the presence of an FF personal trainer, just wanted to throw that in.

This is a fun shot, especially as they are all at different stages of their jumping jacks.

Were they doing star jumps? Interesting to read about FF!
