It was windy and fairly turbulent out at Bondi this morning; in fact there was a community event known as the Blue Water Challenge which was scheduled to be held, but was cancelled because of "washing machine"-like conditions.

Here we see a seagull blasting through the updraughts ahead of a fairly pounding surf. As you can probably tell, the sun is only just up over the horizon and the water's lit low and unevenly.

I have some doubts about how to treat this one. I've put it up here uncropped but in this case the 24-105 did an outstanding job of "freezing" the seagull's details fairly sharply, and there would also be an argument for cropping it in to show those details more clearly. In the end I decided that I preferred to retain the texture of the water on the right.
