Located in the Huanhuaxi scenic spot along the Jingjiang riverside on the south-end of the Qingtai Road in Chengdu, the Baihuatan Park covers an area of 9733 hectars. The park consists of Hui Garden, Lei Garden, West Garden and Yingxin Square. The Hui Garden is designed and constructed in accordance with the Gaos courtyard described in the "Family", a famous novel by China's literary giant Ba Jin (November 25, 1904 – October 17, 2005). The construction of of Hui Garden was personally overseen by Bajin in 1987, when he came back to his Sichuan hometown. A bronze statue of Ba Jin is located in Hui Garden Square.
