Three Trees
#1 Kodak Folding Camera

When you play around with old cameras, especially folders, and more especially old worn out
ones, you don't always get perfect images. But sometimes you happen to get an image that
is capable of jogging a memory, or causing some hidden emotion to bubble to the surface.
This image was made several years ago - probably 1994 - in a #1 Kodak Folding Camera. I remember
making this and other exposures. I apparently got sidetracked, because I recently discovered
this 'fully wound', 11 year expired film in the camera. The T-Max 100 didn't develop too well, and there are
many pinholes in the bellows obviously, as well as a lack of flatness on the left, and a faulty
shutter speed judging by the blur. But in this large 6x9 negative, despite all the issues, you
can still see individual trees on the ridgeline far away. I like this image. It has not been
retouched, or otherwise 'processed'. The color is the stain. Just a straight scan, complete with dust.

Sometimes the old can produce a feeling that is like
a magnet drawing us closer. This is such an image. BV

No not a perfect image. Beyond perfect it is timeless. Fantastic.
