A view towards the plantation house, through
the 'live oak' allee, from inside the gates.
Hasselblad 503CW
, Zeiss Distagon f4/50mm CF FLE, Ilford Delta Pro 100 Photographer's Note. In my view, I fear these images have 'detail overload'. However,
to portray such a view, with dimensional depth, requires detail
plus depth of field. I'd be interested to read if others feel this
way about the 'overload', or should the image be accepted as
having this 'busy detail', because "it is what it is".

Apparently, you're not a fan of Lee Friedlander? his tree photos are faves of mine. No, this is not overloaded with "detail." I like LOTS of lines, especially in tree photos.
Fantastic for a afternoon walk :)
V!

Looks like you've achieved the optimum image from a very difficult mix of light and shadow. I generally take such an image and fight it with over sharpening, endless tweaking of the contrast and brightness levels and never really find myself reaching a satisfying conclusion other than that no camera or film can match God's gift of human sight.
