Primitive Camping

Remember the movie preview for Jaws II?
"Just when you thought it was safe to get back into the water ..." and that freaky music.
Well, I think the sparse images here nicely balance the Lake Como and Lake Zug luxury.
Not that I would have wanted anything else. We had all the basics; fresh water, restrooms
and hot shower, and good weather. And after all, we were honored visitors on a by-way,
approaching Thessaloniki. I could live in that city just so I could say its name all
the time. Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki. Second largest city in Greece, and near
the top of the Aegean Sea.

Although somewhat spartan (no pun intended), this site had one big
draw card (and only one). It was home for the "Restaurant Kubaross Inter~National".
And what a sumptuous feast we had. No menu, of course, just what the Chef
could find - and no wine list, just a brackish retsina. But as the stars dimmed with the
first blush of dawn, and we made our unsteady way to the camper, we knew we
had just been treated to a real good time. Zorba - in several incarnations - danced
the night away. Yassou and efharisto, Kubaross, Yassou and efharisto!

Two amazing images reminiscent of a very distant time in Greece.
To be honest this place reminds me of an infantry training camps!
(I was at the air force:-). And Koubaross (!) (= best man!)! WoW !
The name says it all ! There are still places like this today.
