One of my fave trees, this one, and only a few minutes from my house - I have many negatives of this lovely giant.
Toya 45AII, Rodenstock Grandagon 1:6.8 ƒ=90mm, Fuji Acros at iso80, ilfosol 3 1+9, 5 mins at 20C, in a hanger.
Exposure 1/2 sec at ƒ22. (Light winds kept the leaves moving). Straight scan at 16 bit 2400dpi, small crop, minor
unsharp mask, and light toning. Reduced to 8 bit 72dpi for upload.
This negative was lucky to survive ! After laying out my three 'tanks' with solutions, off went the lights and I picked
up the film darkslide (holder) to extract the two sheets of film, and promptly dropped the darkslide in the fixer !!
Quickly fishing it out, I then had to extract the film (edges only) with wet hands, get it into a frame, and into the
developer. Ditto the second sheet. Much to my surprise, the only fixer seepage seems to have happened at the top,
causing a darker top edge and large branch - more or less worked out nicely. I will not try to repeat this method, however.
