Bucolic Visions 1

Charleston SC

Best viewed in Original size.

When I saw the result of my 6x9 Pinhole image, I decided that I would
take my field camera to the same spot, same time, the following day.
Now, I'm not sure if I like the pinhole dreaminess or the sheet film purity.
I guess there is room for both. The vision, however, remains unchanged.

The Agfa Clack 6x9 Pinhole image is HERE

Toyo-Field 45AII, Rodenstock Grandagon-N 1:6,8 ƒ=90mm, Ilford HP5

HP5 exposed at iso 200, developed in Rodinal 1:25 for 9 minutes (dip and dunk) with agitation every 30 seconds.
Scanned full negative 16bits at 2400dpi for a 195.9MB Tiff file. This view, at 72dpi 8 bits, does not do the HP5 justice. full exif

The feeling of space in this is quite something. I do think it's the sharpness of the field camera, and your developing etc. that make it so. Beautiful.

Master Colin,

I like this version better. The pinhole image has a nice "look" but I bet this will look georgeous printed! ~V~ x3

A very appealing capture to me, I prefer it to the pinhole one. BV.

Magnificent tonal quality. There is nothing like a big negative and an excellent scanner

A southern beauty! Superb capture Colin! This might be one of my favorite tree images that you've shot! V
