Hydrant

Mount Pleasant SC

First of the test images from the Graflex 22 Model 200 TLR.

Best viewed in Original Size.

Comment: Sharp enough, with nice contrast. The viewing fresnel screen is
so poor that I used distance estimation and hyperfocal settings, selecting
ƒ11 or ƒ8 as the preferred working apertures. Times of 1/10 and 1/25
were about right for this quite overcast day (which was very favorable light).

Wonderful the way you have isolated this subject and I get an awesome feeling peering into those shadows ~V~

Excellent shot, really lovely tones! That lens is definitely giving
a 'special' look as you've mentioned. V++

Great shot, I definitely like the look the retro glass gives. I look forward to seeing more images from the "Graflex". BV

""(The vignetting works for this image. Did the camera do that, or was that your influence in developing?)""
It's nothing clever and I can't blame the camera either - I used an old Series #5 push-on lens hood, which is obviously just a shade too deep (pun intended), so some of the 12 very nice negatives have some vignetting if I use the entire negative frame size. Saves me burning the edges ! ;-)

I like the spooky dark woods. And I like how the hydrant looks out of place, like it walked out of the city and can't find its way back. ~V~
