As I young kid in the 50s I used to love going in my neighbouring" wied " near Birzebbugia and spend many hours chasing and collecting some of the beautifull butterflies we then "had". I remember seeing all the different species that existed including the Red admiral , the Wall, swallow-tail, Bath white, Number-eight, meadow brown, Small-copper, Small-grass blue and more. All in relitavely in a small area in the same valley. I am an Australian now for the last 55 years and been to malta a few times and only seen one Red admiral in 2008. The world is destroying its self and we are to blame! Australia is heading the same way with all the distraction that we are causing. Thank you for the appotunity to express my disappointment in Humanity.
