private comment: There is an improved dynamic range of the water and boats however the sky (always the problem) is not as nice as the sky in the non-hdr version. In addition, when you use HDR techniques you will see an increase in noise. Both of these things I mentioned can be modified with additional post-processing.

I find that the HDR generated data is only the beginning of the process and that considerable post-processing is needed in almost all cases.
