You don't have to pay for an urgent service to get your apostille, you can do it yourself. The State of Hawaii processes all documents on a first-come, first-served basis.

The apostille Hawaii Service may only be issued in the state of Hawaii by the Hawaii Secretary of State's Office. We recommend that you call the Apostille Office and describe your document to ensure that you are ready for the apostille.

The Apostille certificate only certifies the capacity of the person who signed the public document and the authenticity of the signature. An apostille document does not certify the content of the public document to which it refers.

Documents issued by another state cannot be apostilled by the state of Hawaii. They must be apostilled from the same issuing country. Documents issued by the federal government to Hawaii residents or businesses must obtain the apostille from the U.S. UU. An apostille may be placed on original documents issued in the state of Hawaii that bear the official signature and seal of a valid mandatory notary, current state registrar, probate judge, or document issued by one of the departments of the state of Hawaii.
