I feel like I'm looking out the window onto the Tuscan countryside. I like the reflection on the window pane. And I'm now even more anxious for my first taste of Tuscany.
Dan is right; the coffee cup should have been pale blue, like the sky, and there should have been a nice irridescent pigeon walking across the tiles!
Can you retake the shot?!
First, let me comment on that coffee: I would have put the spoon inside the cup for more feeling. Perhaps using a cup and saucer with a color such as blue or mauve would have really made it stand out against that lackluster background. Where's the sugar? No napkin?!! I'm suddenly feeling quite sleepy....feel like I need to go lie down... :^?)
Man, if you consider that view boring, come visit Southern California for a few weeks.
Interesting things about the picture:
1) The view.
2) The foreground framing.
3) The lighting.
4) The sky (color and sparse coluds).
5) The tiles (texture and patterns).
6) The coffee cup (adds the story element).
So sorry Adal, but you have to try a LOT HARDER THAN THIS if you want to be boring!
There are two redeeming features that save this picture from being completely boring, dear Adal. First the structure of the roof tiles is rather interesting, even though the midday sun isn't so great, to bring out the textures. Then the most intriguing way in which the coffee cup is in half light and half shadow is great. A room with a view.
