Teachers teach: "Wides and teles are useful to get surprising pictures.
But if you are not capable to obtain interesting images with the simple 50mm then you are not a true photographer".
So, from time to time I put the standard lens on just for exercise :-)
Note: the 50mm equivalent for most DSRLs smaller than full format is approx 30mm.
