As a child living in Hong Kong, I always loved to travel on the Star Ferry. We loved to travel on the lower deck and were very often fascinated by the people on board- there was always livestock - chickens, etc on the lower deck. We lived on Stonecutter's Island (now Stonecutter's Point) and always looked forward to taking a Walla-Walla to Kowloon (Tsim Tsa Tsui) before catching the Star Ferry across to Hong Kong Island.
