Twelve years ago, in 1997, when we first moved here we were visited by a delightful tortoiseshell cat which was wild but eventually would come for milk, and then food - I called her "Tinkerbell". Soon afterwards she was joined by another similar cat which I discovered was her mother - I re-thought the names and called the mother "Bella" and her daughter "Tinker". Due to marauding "toms" we ended up with thirteen cats!!! Common sense prevailed and they were all neutered. With the exception of "Snowy" and one or two "passing vagrants" all of our cats are descended from the grande dame "Bella". We are now down to only three - they have died from ill health (feline aids is common here), accidents and old age. They have been a very large part of our life here at Qta dos Passarinhos.
