Visiting San Pedro de Atacama: city and surroundings

San Pedro de Atacama is a worldwide attraction, if one observes the high number of nationalities tourists visiting it. The number of hostels (from simple to luxurious) is also high. San Pedro is actually an oasis in the Desert of Atacama, the driest worldwide. The town is kept as very rustic and its charming comes - at least partially - from it. There are many restaurants and our experience with them is quite positive. People are nice. In this folder we show also some photos from other two towns nearby: Rio Grande and Toconao. Some park pictures - also a great attraction of the region - are shown in another folder. During the day, the temperatures are high (35 Celsius degrees) but they drop in the night. We spent 3 days in the area. The number of permanent inhabitants is close to 2000 and its altitude is 2400 meters. We have indeed a great memory of this city and surroundings.
