Using Kodak Tri-X with Minolta gear at São Leonardo (Jan 2022)

Neste folder apresento minha segunda experiência com utilização de filmes associada à digitalização de negativos. No primeiro ensaio (pbase.com/abastos/bw_using_film_tmax100_jan2022), utilizei o filme Kodak Tmax 100 com uma câmera Olympus OM2n e lentes Zuiko. Embora o filme estivesse vencido há aproximadamente 10 anos, os resultados foram bons. Foi apresentado o método para digitalizar os negativos. No presente trabalho utilizei, da minha coleção, uma câmera Minolta SRT 303, com as lentes Rokkor 24/2.8. 35/2.8, 50/2 e 135/2.8. O filme foi o também vencido (em 12 anos) Kodak Tri-X de ISO 400. Os resultados da revelação não foram tão bons, pois o filme apresentou um certa névoa (típico de filme parcialmente envelhecido e/ou velado); esse efeito é, obviamente, mais pronunciado em filmes de alta sensibilidade. No entanto, foi possível obter imagens razoáveis com um grão analógico muito pronunciado. Dependendo da apreciação, isso pode ser positivo ou não. Pessoalmente, achei o resultado interessante para este caso. As fotografias foram feitas na região próxima à Rancho Queimado, Angelina e Alfredo Wagner.

In this gallery, I present my second experience with films and its scanning for digital pots-processing. In the first one (pbase.com/abastos/bw_using_film_tmax100_jan2022) I used a Kodak Tmax 100 with my Olympus OM2n camera and Zuiko lenses. It was out of validity (by approx. 10 years) but the development results were quite good.The digitization procedure was described in that gallery. For this work I used, from my collection, the classical Minolta SRT 303 with Rokkor lenses 24/2.8, 35/2.8, 50/2 and the 135/2.8. The film, already out of date by 12 years, was the Kodak Tri-X (ISO 400). The results were not so good. The negative strips show a kind of gray curtain, lowering the contrat (it is clear that such an effect for high sensibility films is more pronounced than for low sensibility ones). Nevertheless, it was possible to treat the negatives with the ACDSee editing software with reasonable results. The analogical grain is very large, which can be attractive - or not - depending on personal taste. Personally, I liked the final photos for this particular case. The pictures were taken at Rancho Queimado, Angelina and Alfredo Wagner area, around 100 km distant from Florianópolis.
