Em 2008 fomos a uma conferência na área de Eng. Elétrica em Atenas, Grécia. No fim de semana após o evento, eu e meu amigo Arnulf Kost, de Berlim, alugamos um carro e fizemos um passeio na região do Peloponeso. Ir à Grécia me transportou à minha infância, quando já gostava de História e lia sobre a Grécia antiga com muito interesse (isso nao mudou com a idade). Naquela época, quando brincávamos de caubóis, entre a rivalidade Atenas x Esparta, de imediato simpatizei com os bravos guerreiros de Esparta. Assim, estando nesse país, disse de imediato à Arnulf "precisamos visitar Esparta", após verificar que essa cidade ainda existia. Saindo de Atenas, circulamos pelo Peloponeso passando por locais e ruínas interessantes, incluindo a cidade onde se realizavam as antigas olimpíadas gregas. Esparta é agora uma pequena cidade; mesmo suas ruínas formam um pequeno resquício do que foi outrora a grande Esparta, com seus grandes heróis, como Leônidas e Menelau. Ao longo do tempo ..... Atenas venceu. No caminho de volta passamos pelo Oráculo de Delfos, com templos e casas fortes que um dia abrigaram os sacerdotes e sacerdotisas, localizado na cidade de Delfos (que hoje já não existe). Há um museu com estátuas de deuses e personalidades do que conhecemos como "Mitologia Grega". Lamentável que uma mitologia tão rica e intrigante tenha sido substituída por outras crenças bem menos imaginativas e interessantes. Sem me alongar, foi muito bom viajar pela Grécia. Guardamos boa lembrança. As fotos foram feitas com uma Canon EOS e filmes de slides Fuji Sensia. Os slides foram macro-fotografados com uma Olympus E-M1 II e a lente Zuiko 30mm/3.5 macro. As fotos foram então tratadas no ACDSee onde e, como de hábito, somente limpeza, ajustes de corte, brilho, cor e contraste foram feitos.

In 2008 we attended a conference on Electrical Engineering held at Athens, Greece. During the weekend after the event, with my friend Arnulf Kost (le 'berlinois') we rented a car for a tour in the Peloponnese. Staying in Greece brought me back to my young age, when I often read with great interest and curiosity books on History and, particularly, about Greece (it did not change with the years passing by). In that time, we played cowboys and between Sparta and Athens, I chose, at once, the first one because of the brave warriors. Then, I said to Arnulf, 'we should visit Sparta', after verifying that the town still exists. Leaving Athens, we drove through the Peloponnese passing by interesting ruins and small cities. It included the town where the Olympic Games were held at that time. Sparta is now a relatively small town in the heart of the peninsule. Even its ruins are now a small set; sad for the great Sparta, with the heros as Menelaus and Leonides. With the time .... Athens won. On the way back to the capital, we visit the Oracle de Delphi, with temples and fortresses where priests and - according legends - god and goddesses met. The town does not exist any more, but there is an interesting museum with statues and sculptures of what is now known as the "Grec mythology". It is a pity that such a rich and intriguing belief has been replaced by others, much less interesting and imaginative. To be short, this trip was a quite good one and we have a good memory of it. The pictures were taken with a Canon EOS loaded with slide Fuji Sensia films. The slides were macro photographed with an Olympus E-M1 II and the Zuiko 30mm/3.5 macro lens. The photos were treated with ACDSee and, as usual, only cropping and adjustments of color, brightness and contrast were performed.
