My old Nikomat camera at work with a Kodak film at Barra da Lagoa (2022)

Once more, In the series "nostalgia" let us go back to analog photography. I had a Kodak Tmax 100 film expired since 2009 and along with an old Nikomat FT2 and the Nikkor lenses 24/2.8, 50/2 and 135/2.8 I went to Barra da Lagoa, one of the most interesting and eclectic locations of Florianópolis. In a few hours I took the pictures below which are quite simple snapshots. It was a pleasure to use this camera again. In 1977 I had a similar one (Nikkormat FT2) that was sold. I found this one few months ago in good shape. Nikomat and Nikkormat are identical devices; the former was intended for the Japanese market. The Nikon lenses are excellent and even somewhat aged (some decades) they are still excellent on optical and mechanical aspects. I developed the film with the classical Kodak D-76 (1+1) leaving some 10% extra time for compensating the film age. As mentioned, the main idea of the pictures is to give some impression of the canal connecting the Lagoa da Conceição with the sea. The canal is the place where fishing boats and fishers live. The negatives were macro-photographed with the Olympus E-M1 II and treated with ACDSee.
