In 2005, we travelled to Bolivia and Peru. We arrived at the La Paz airport whose altitude is about 4200 meters. The town, nearby, is about 400 meters below. We felt the altitude effects and we needed some few days to get used to. Bolivia, as well as some other countries in the west South America, has a strong influence of the native Inca people. Easy to see it on streets, where a small porcentage of population has pure European origin. In some way, it looks as an organized mess, with many people selling cheap things on streets. From La Paz, the whole trip was on buses. Firstly, we went to Copacabana, at the border between Bolivia and Peru. Then, we travelled to Puno (Peru) where we stopped for 2 days and finally, we arrived to Cusco. Based in this nice town, we visited the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. For the way back, still by bus, we crossed the border to Bolivia at Desaguadero, whose impression can not be forgotten by anyone who passes through. And, from the La Paz, we flew back to Florianópolis. We were happy for being there and this trip gave us the chance of meeting a different culture compared to ours.
The technical quality of pictures, although correct when taken (with 2 Minolta film cameras and the lenses 24-85mm, 70-210mm and a prime 35/2), are not good here. The pictures come from slide scanning (Nikon Coolscan V, indicated by LS-50 in the exif) and (for the negative films) from enlargements on glossy paper (in the exif data it is indicated the cameras used: Nikon D90 or Olympus E-M1). Don't expect much from them and consider this folder as 'travel pictures' whose main intention is to give an impression of the visited places.
