Assignment: Wide-angle close-up.
Bryan's comments:
When are you turning PRO!? A still life like this says two things to me: a perfect execution of design/compositional principles and an equally valid perfect exposure, especially when you have all of this white which you of course handled beautifully with your +1.7 EV-my goodness, the only thing missing is the apple pie! I would add one very small thing and that is your choice of using f/22; it would not have have been necessary to use that small of an aperture here since there is NO real depth of field concerns-this kind of scene is what I refer to as a "who cares" with regard to depth of field which ironically means we should 'care' because now we have a perfect excuse to use the middle of the road apertures, f/8-f/11, and the apertures within this range are ALWAYS able to offer up a higher color/contrast/shaprness then their counterparts can such as f/4-f/5.6-f/16-f/22, BUT these same "who cares" apertures DO NOT offer up shallow depth of fields or are capable of storytelling either!
Like most things in life, even photography has compromises and this is one of them, but again, since you are in a "who cares" composition here, (depth of field is NOT an issue since everything is at roughly the same focus distance) apertures of f/8-f/11 could have easily been used here.
Finally, no matter how one shoots this it is a Perfect Picture of the Week!
