This photo sequence shows how we installed the battery tray to make it fully removable, if needed. Note that this is not a GT factory modification, simply a slight improvement for maintenance convenience of this rust-sensitive area. We can now completely treat/paint the battery tray area on all sides as it would be nearly impossible to properly remove all rust, then correctly primer/paint the battery tray area once welded in place.

In the future, should I ever decide and choose to relocate the battery to the front trunk of the 914 (a superior location for many reasons), this battery tray and support-box can be easily removed. Take a look...
