When installed, an OEM 914-6 GT Front Hood needs to be shimmed and aligned in reference to both fenders and the windshield cowling. All OEM 914-6 GT front hoods sit somewhat low and they need to be raised a bit using a small shim between the hood and the hood hinges. We used a simple washer to calculate the required thickness. See here https://pbase.com/image/166462625. Over the years, I've owned at least 4 factory GT front hoods and each one needed an alignment shim to fit properly.

Don't ever store one of these extremely rare and priceless 914-6 GT hoods while resting on the rear-corner points, always rest these hoods on either lateral side, preferably on top of a cloth or some type of protective material. The windshield corners of these hoods will quickly wear out, specially while the hood is dragged across the floor https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/166462627. I know better, I did not participate in the slight damage of this section of the hood, and like I said, it was done long ago when it didn't really matter. This is the 914-6 GT front hood I will be using in my car-- it is amazing it survived this long without further damage. Just be careful...
