For weight savings, note how the Porsche factory lighten the BOSCH Fuel Pump Mounting Bracket on the 71' Monte Carlo Rally GT race cars by milling a large slot at the center of the pump bracket. I will be doing the same, see here https://pbase.com/image/149107127

This photo shows a Porsche factory Magnesium fuel pump bracket, talk about weight savings. Amazing! (I have been looking for a pair of these brackets for ages, no luck!).
