NP 914-6 2.0 Liter Magnesium Crankcase

ENGINE TYPE: 914/36

SERIAL: 6405125 https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/135410655

This is the original numbers-matching 2-liter Magnesium 3R crankcase https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/165252452 that was removed from my factory six (VIN 914.043.1722). For reference, this is a copy of the invoice https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/165250525 detailing all the machining work done to the crankcase. Several modifications were made, not all are visible from these photos, but here are two we can see clearly https://pbase.com/image/165252454

This early crankcase was also 'shuffle-pinned' and the all important lubrication modification to clear a larger hi-volume oil pump was also implemented. In order to keep the theme of the engine 'a la 906', we decided not to use the much-improved GT3 oil pump, but rather, we're using a later 911 Carrera 4-Rib oil pump. This pump not only looks the part, it provides more than sufficient oil-volume for a 2-liter displacement competition engine.
