Arrival and Inspection

(Dec/15/2005) The 911 RSR crankshaft arrived at Ollie's today so George can conduct a careful inspection https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/96829435/original of this part. The crankshaft was 'magnafluxed" https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/96829428 and no craks found, it also passed the jig inspection https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/96829452 and is very straight with no previous repairs, all rod journals were standart/standard with the larger factory RSR radiouses https://pbase.com/slidevalve911rsr/image/53611974 still intact. We did find a couple of rod-journals that were a bit out-of-round (by 6 to 7 1/1000th of an inch) https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/96829436 and according to George, probably created from several micro-polishing operations the crankshaft endured over the last 30+ years.
