The now very rare 917 racing oil-thermostat. Note the larger oil ports to allow greater oil flow volume, obviously needed for the lubrication requirement of a 12-cylinder racing engine. Since the oil-lines used by the 917 are in fact larger, the 917K oil-thermostat naturally was made internally larger as well.
