Oil Lines - Engine Compartment

I'll start by identifying the location of each of the oil lines found in the engine bay of a 914-6 GT with the shortest https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22320652 of the group, see here https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22288803 - Note in this installation how the oil line is kinked, https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/26185312 obviously somethine you want to avoid if possible. It is highly recommended to first do a mock-up installation of all of the system components prior to welding in place the oil thermostat mounting bracket https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/25727777 to the left firewall in the engine bay. This is critical, very important to achieve a good fit.

Next, can you spot the short steel oil line in this photo? https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22320664 - Now, look more closely at the lower right corner of this picture https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22288802, hidden just under the front engine sheet metal, this oil line is difficult to see and usually its presence is missed by most.

This oil line https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22320659 connects to the 3rd threaded port of this oil line https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22320663 - In this photo https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/89779411 the oil line was connected to an oil port located on the face of the oil console. This oil line is then snaked through a hole in the engine bay sheet metal, then to a long brass oil line (the oil return line coming from the front mounted oil cooler).

Can you also spot this other oil line https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22320663 in this photo? https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22288807 No look closely here https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22288804

This particular oil line https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22320660 is located towards the bottom of the external oil tank and connects at one end to the engine oil cooler, see here https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/128387754 note the incorporated mounting bracket, used to secure the oil line to a stud in the engine.

The longest oil line https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/22320661 of this group is much easier to ID and it is found here https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/32772639
