This car was imported into the United States by Volkswagen-Porsche-Audi of America’s Culver City, California distributorship. In August of 1971 it was sold to Bozzani Porsche-Audi Inc. of Monrovia, California. Alan Johnson then advertised the car in Auto Week/Competition Press in October - November of 1971.

Some interesting and ignorant comments from many with opinions, but very few informed can be found herehttp://jalopnik.com/5100047/nice-price-or-crack-pipe-factory-racer-porsche-914+6-for-325000# Yes, $375,000 was too high, $325,000 still too high but if a well built replica without a 100-liter tank and no factory GT lids can sell for $125,000, then obviously this GT is worth a bit more... ; )

Hello Eric, I have personally inspected and photographed this GT and can say for sure is "Canary Yellow" (as painted when it left the factory). No repaints yet (saw it Feb 10, 2005) and still the same factory color. The changes in the hue of the Canary Yellow color was because I had to "lighten" up some photos I took in order to make them more visible (my flash did not work too well and the photos appeared too dark). Armando, Do you know the color of this car? It looks like Chrome Yellow. It may be the pictures but it doesn't look Canary.
