Avoncroft Windmill

The windmill at Avoncroft is from Danzey Green in Warwickshire. The earliest recorded mill on that site was 1560. This windmill was constructed in the mid-19th century and moved to Avoncroft in 1969.

Storm Damages Avoncroft’s Iconic Windmill

January storms in 2012 have seriously damaged the windmill from Danzey Green, Warwickshire, causing one of its sails to break in two. The broken part of the sail has pierced the roof of the windmill’s lower section, causing further damage. This is especially catastrophic as the windmill had only recently been repaired to a workable condition.

What an interesting looking windmill, although sad to hear of its misfortune. Beautiful capture, though, with super light and color. V.
