New Hope is an artsy & diverse little town - it sits on the Delaware River - depending on the route you would take to get there it is approximately 50(ish) miles North of Philadelphia - New Hope has roots dating back to the Revolutionary War. Washington's Crossing, only a few miles down the road from New Hope, also sits on the Delaware River - if memory serves me correctly, General Washington fought at least one key battle against the British in this region (in Trenton - not far South). The area is called Washington's Crossing because the General and his troops crossed the Delaware here on Christmas Day in 1776. I am not positive of the miles; however, these locations are somewhere (roughly the same distance as from Philadelphia) North-East of Valley Forge.
