A canon on the Stones River Battlefield in Murfreesboro, TN. From December 31, 1862 to January 2, 1863 Confederate and Union forces fought to a draw in what was a violent and bloody battle. Of the major battles of the Civil War, Stones River had the highest percentage of casualties on both sides.
