New River, West Virginia

These photos were taken on the "Surprise" rapid on the New River in West Virginia. "Surprise" is a Class III rapid, although this same run has a number of Class IV rapids and two Class V rapids. This run ends beneath the famous bridge over the New River that is the most famous sight in West Virginia.
