Erect stout (almost looks woody) single branched
perennial in the 1'-3' range. The 3" to 5" ovate
to oblong opposite leaves have ruffled edges. One
to four compact terminal umble blooms look like
tight globes with white flowers and an external
purple ring around the middle of each individual
bloom of the umble cluster. Found blooming in
Middle TN May - June in upland woods and margins.
