Yes, it is about the joy of a parent and the trust and peace of a child. I agree, the woman's eyes are not necessary, it is implied they are beaming at the child. The smile says enough!

i was i bit put off initially with the comp and the loss of the woman's face/eyes (a bit disconcerting)...but the more i look at it the more it grows on me. the smile in the bg is more than enough. )
