Beacon

August 25

South Cheatham County, TN

Yesterdays PaD may have been somewhat of a stretch. I have been so anxious to experiment with that style that I tried to make it work in the confines of my B&W month. I'll play more later to try to get the effect down better. I just don't think it works nearly as well when combined with B&W.

On my drive to the office this morning I was thinking what a bland morning it was. No fog. No clouds to catch the early light. Dry as a bone. Then I crossed the Harpeth River, rounded the corner and BAM, there it was, the sun just capping the ridge and beaming through the trees on the hillside. A little wink from heaven. A beacon of a new great day ahead.

For what its worth , your post of yesterday was less of a stretch and more of an expression imho. I find your work Challanging , and enviable..I also am constantly impressed with how you see the world around you at once both mystical and practical ..Awstruck and thankfull.

"The sunburst gives it a dramatic flare "

Haha, was that pun intended?

Stunning image, Scott! Wonderful composition and the starburst sun is fantastic, the treatment works so very well here. "Beacon of a new great day ahead" is such a fitting statement for this image.

Nice star burst. Is it a filter or are you stopped down and that's light refracting off the edge of the aperture? Very nice in B+W.
