Roadside Color 3

Roadside in Pegram, TN

Senecio anonymus (Southern Ragwort) dots the roadsides in the tall grass until the department of transportation mows. I have never understood the obsession with mowed roadsides. I guess too many people have a fear of unmaintained space. This has so much more character.

Very nice work - too bad they just mow over something as nice as that for no reason.

Wonderful "natural and native" wild flowers..We have the same problem over here!
Great shot...

This is so pretty. I have never understood the highway departments mowing down the pretty roadsides, either. The flowers are certainly prettier than fast food places empty containers and napkins.
