donkeys are still used to carry tourists between Fira and Harbour Skala, the other two alternatives are either taking the cable car or hiking up/down the 587 broad steps.

I went up by bus and got into trouble when I walked down the steps at night (wife didn't approve). The view was lovely as is Santorini.
