Longannet Power Station

Longannet Power Station (near Kincardine)on the River Forth. It is a coal burning electricity generating station. The chimney is four stacks in one and is 600 feet high. The power station sits on top of its own coal mine. The lights of Grangemouth chemical/industrial site can be seen across the Forth in the background. The foreground is a flooded field. This was taken with a Nikon D3 handheld - in the dark. The only light was that from within the power station itself. (Shot at ISO3200)

other sizes: small medium large original auto
