The Yao women are skilled in the art of embrodiery. In order to make a living they sell bags and jewelery to tourists. A show is put on for tourists where the women will wash their hair extensions (which they say is hair of their ancestors) in the river and then neatly tie it to their own hair and wrap it around their heads.
