These are great action shots. When the wind pipes up these boats really perform.

Fifty years later and it is still going. I was there i '54/'55. Handled the mail sail for Gary Sisson and we won the Lake Michigan Junior Chanpionship. Then we beat a crew of rich kids from Lake Geneva, WI. and went to the Sears Cup up in Macatawa Bay. We sailed Lightings out on the lake. A special thrill on days with heavy winds from the West was to beat out between the piers, come about, throw up the spinaker and surf back in. A real feeling of meeting the elements face to face. Never did turn turtle, even in the Penguin that my Dad got as part of a winter project of building a dozen or so in the now demolished Junior Building.
