They called him "Cash Register" because of all the sprinting prizes he won. His son Taylor is turning out to be an outstanding cyclist as well- little surprise given his parents were two of the best cyclists in America at the time. Wife/ mother Connie Carpenter won the first ever Gold Medal in Women's Road Race at the Olympics- among many other titles.
