Gazda means "host," or "boss." This was a very nice kid. His grandfather was very rich and leased property to the British for their Vitez base. He was making big bucks on the war. The kid was wounded when a rocket-propelled grenade of some sort landed in the front yard of his house while he was playing in a tree. A British major from a Ghurka regiment was also wounded. The locals blamed it on the Muslims. Later that day I was up on the mountain and ran into three of Dario Kordic's boys. They had a rocket launcher I wasn't familiar with and told me that they had been after the new Muslim sniper that was shooting at everybody. She was even shooting at me...Later one of the local soldiers told me that they had removed most of the explosive from a grenade and fired it in the direction of the British base. He asked them what they were doing and was told that they were trying to collect some money for Kordic...The boy is pictured with his grandmother, left, his mom, and his aunt, right.
