The family of Palmer Sagoonick call the dog team in as Sagoonick approaches the finish of the Iditarod. The dogs respond to familiar voices, especially the voices of people who feed them! Sagoonick later told me that when he arrived in Unalakleet, his home town, the whole village turned out to cheer him on. "My dogs thought they'd won the race," he said. "They were so happy!"
